We are looking for a   Director of Nursing Labor and Delivery   to join our Labor and Delivery team in Albuquerque, NM. 
 

This full time job is located at Lovelace Women’s Hospital, the first and only hospital in New Mexico dedicated to women’s health, offers a 53-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care unit, 24/7 Emergency Dept, 16 Labor and Delivery Rooms, 41-Bed Mother/Baby Unit and a Maternal Fetal Medicine Program for high risk pregnancies. The Director of Labor and Delivery will be responsible for operations, personnel and financial management of dept. Supports the Executive Director and CNO in achieving optimum performance by ensuring continuity and quality of service and care through the management of overall day to day operations. Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety. 
 

 
Director of Labor and Delivery Job Responsibilities: 
  • Directs and administers strategic, operational, fiscal and personnel activities for assigned nursing department(s) in accordance with established regulatory agencies. 
  • Prepares and manages budgets, manages/supervises staff and ensures quality services are provided through daily operations. 
  •   Manages clinical operations and development for assigned area(s) with measurable improvements in clinical outcomes and customer patient satisfaction. 
  •   Represents the organization and/or department at various community and/or business meetings; promotes existing or new services; serves as liaison and develops and maintains business relationships  
  •   Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety. 

  Director    of Labor and Delivery Education and Experience Requirements:
 

  • Minimum:  Bachelor Degree in Nursing with progressive nursing/management experience
  •   Desired : Masters Degree in Nursing/Business or equivalent
  •   Ability to influence, motivate, manage, train, direct, counsel and develop staff; communication and positive employee relation skills; knowledge of regulatory standards for compliance
  • Three (3) years previous job related experience. 
  • Desired Five (5) years previous job related experience with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Minimum: BLS; Valid NM Nursing license or Multi State Compact license
